Dr. Ronald Edelson is a Board Certified Plastic
 Surgeon who has practiced in San Diego for
 more than twenty years. In that time, he has
 become recognized as one of San Diego's most
 highly skilled and respected Plastic Surgeons.

 A native of New Jersey, Dr. Edelson received his
 medical degree from Northwestern University
 where he completed the prestigious Honors
 Program in Medical Education, an accelerated
 and highly selective six year medical program.
 While at Northwestern University he was elected
to membership in Alpha Omega Alpha, the Honor Medical Society recognizing academic excellence. He graduated cum laude in 1980. Dr. Edelson remained at Northwestern University for residencies in General Surgery and Plastic Surgery, and was elected to membership in the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons.

Dr. Edelson has expertise in all areas of Plastic Surgery, particularly in the technically demanding cosmetic surgery of the face, eyes, nose, breasts and body.

In addition to a busy cosmetic surgery practice, he maintains an active interest in reconstructive surgery, including breast reconstruction following mastectomy. He regularly donates time to the Cleft Palate Clinic at Children's Hospital in San Diego, performing delicate operations on children born with facial deformities.

Dr. Edelson is a member of the San Diego County Medical Society and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. He is a senior active Staff Member at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, and Sharp Memorial Hospital. Dr. Edelson is a frequent consultant at UCSD Medical Center and serves as the Plastic Surgeon for the San Diego Chargers.

Dr. Edelson has authored numerous scientific publications in the field of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Edelson's office is equipped with a modern, state-of-the-art, certified surgicenter, where most cosmetic surgical procedures are performed, assuring maximum patient comfort, privacy and safety. Surgical procedures are performed on an outpatient basis, and anesthesia, either local or general, is administered by the finest Board Certified physician anesthesiologists available.

Dr. Edelson's operating room is equipped with the latest in Plastic Surgical technology, including equipment for endoscopic and laser surgery. Second to none, his staff is experienced, knowledgeable, and caring, and help make the cosmetic surgical experience pleasant and comfortable.

Most patients experience only mild to moderate post-operative discomfort. Recovery is usually rapid and most patients can return to work within a week.
